Skoda recently introduced the new Active Peace variant for the Kushaq. It had a limited run of just 600 units and most of them are already sold out. The Active Peace variant is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakhs ex-showroom. Here, is a walkaround video of the new variant.

The video is uploaded on YouTube by TeamAutoTrend Channel. The host gives us a walkaround of the mid-size SUV and shows us all the features the new variant offers. The Active Peace variant was made to combat the semiconductor shortage issue and to keep the production lines going.

The Kushaq Active Peace variant comes with halogen headlamps without a projector setup. There are separate LED Daytime Running Lamps. The grille does get a chrome surround but the silver skid plates are missing. On the sides, there are not many differences. It gets the same body coloured outside rearview mirrors, body-coloured door handles, ORVM mounted turn indicators, regular antenna, 16-inch wheel covers and roof rails. At the rear, there is no rear wiper or washer. There are three rear parking sensors to help the driver in parking in tight spaces. There are partial LED tail lamps.

Despite being the base variant, it comes with a two-spoke steering wheel which is a multi-function unit. There is still a multi-information display, steering mounted audio controls, remote central locking, manual climate control, all four power windows, and electric adjustment for ORVMs. The seats are now of regular fabric upholstery but the driver does get height adjustment. There are rear AC vents, a centre armrest for the front occupants with a cubby space, 3 adjustable rear headrests with 3 seatbelts and cup holders.

The Active Peace variant misses out on a touchscreen infotainment system. So, the customer can buy the infotainment system from an aftermarket or dealership and fit it. The new variant still comes with Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Assist, Multi Collision Braking, Traction Control, Dual airbags, Brake Assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and ABS with EBD.

The new variant is only offered with the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged TSI petrol engine. It produces 115 Ps of max power and 178 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to only a 6-speed manual gearbox. If you want the 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox then you would have to upgrade to at least the Ambition Classic variant which is also new.

The prices of the Kushaq now start at Rs. 9.99 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 19.49 lakhs ex-showroom. It competes against the Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Nissan Kicks.

Kushaq Ambition Classic

Skoda also launched the Ambition CLassic variant of the Kushaq. It sits below the Ambition. It is priced at Rs. 12.69 lakhs ex-showroom for the manual gearbox whereas the AT variant costs Rs. 14.09 lakhs ex-showroom.

It does not get automatic climate control which has probably been done because of the ongoing semiconductor shortage. The dual-tone fabric seats are replaced with black suede seat covers. There are chrome accents on the exterior as well as the interior. On the inside, the Ambition Classic still comes with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There are electrically foldable outside rearview mirrors, LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps, cornering function for fog lamps, a rear wiper with washer, shark-fin antenna and 16-inch alloy wheels.
