Important victory for world number one Novak Djokovic in the last quarter-final of the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome. The Serbian champion gets the better of the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, a success that allows Nole to maintain the first position in the ranking and approach the 1000th victory in the ATP Tour, yet another recognition of an extraordinary career.

The Serbian is in one of his best recent versions and despite a good performance by Auger he closes in two hard-fought sets. Thus continues Nole’s preparation march which aims to be in the best condition in a few days in Paris.

In the semifinals Djokovic will challenge an insidious opponent, especially on clay, such as the Norwegian Casper Ruud. The Norwegian player is more solid and he wins his fourth in two sets against fellow Canadian Denis Shapovalov, tired after the battle against Rafael Nadal.
