American tennis legend John McEnroe is rooting for Emma Raducanu to figure it all out as soon as possible and start making great result. Raducanu, 19, made all the headlines when she became the first qualifier in tennis history to win a Grand Slam.

Unfortunately, Raducanu has struggled with her game and fitness since the US Open victory and many believe the 19-year-old is feeling the enormous level of stress because of all the attention she has been receiving in recent months.

Some are going as far as claiming that the anxiety Raducanu is feeling is a contributing factor to her injury problems. “She’s trying to grow up in front of the world and in front of people,” McEnroe told The Guardian.

“And that can be difficult. It [the 2021 US Open triumph] happened so quickly. I don’t know if anyone could have possibly anticipated this would happen. This is the future of our game. And people are checking to see what part Emma’s going to have in that.

And so there’s a high interest level, obviously. So I think it’d be good obviously for her and her family and the sport that she finds something as soon as possible that she feels more relaxed and able to do her thing”.

Raducanu set for a Wimbledon return

Before Raducanu won the US Open, she drew focus on herself at 2021 Wimbledon. The Wimbledon organizers handed Raducanu a main draw wildcard, a decision they certainly didn’t regret.

In her Wimbledon debut, Raducanu made the last-16 before retiring to Ajla Tomljanovic after experiencing breathing difficulties. A year ago at Wimbledon, Raducanu was a promising teenager who was making her Grand Slam debut.
