Bryson DeChambeau made the decision to play LIV Golf a few weeks ago. In an interview with the Country Club Adjacent podcast, he revealed that his contract will last until 2026. Reporters emphasized that the figure is $125m, but it seems that it is an even bigger figure.
“I’m not gonna say the details, I mean for what’s reported it’s somewhat close,” he said, as quoted by golfmonthly. “It’s a four-and-a-half year deal, I can definitely tell you that and a lot of it was up front which is great.
What’s cool about it though is that I’ve already put it in places that make sense, whether it’s my foundation or real estate, being able to build a multi-sport complex or taking care of my family, taking care of what we’ve got going on with our content creation with Regecy, numerous other things too”.
Bryson DeChambeau on his decision
As recently as a few months ago, DeChambeau explained his decision. He believes that this tournament is going in the right direction and expects a lot from him. Of course, money is the main motive, so DeChambeau didn’t look much on the comments of others.
“There was a lot of financials to it and a lot of time. I get to have a life outside of the game of golf as well,”
It’s a business decision for my family’s future, and it gave me a lot of free time, so it cleared a lot things up for me” “I think we’ll have a new legacy.
“It was very difficult. It’s been weighing on everybody out here for the past couple of years. “For me, what’s gone on has not been great but they [Saudi Arabia] are moving in the right direction from what I can see and what we’ve had conversations about. “I would love to play PGA Tour events when they would allow me to.”
