Super weeks we’ve been bringing you stories of heroism in the lead-up to the 75th anniversary of D-Day and tonight the other face of courage and emotional reunions. 74 years in the making 89 year old Holocaust Survivor, Sophie claseman was 10 years old. When the Nazis invaded her City in Poland. This week she came face-to-face with the American Soldier of the 84th Infantry Division, whose team help to liberate her from the salzwedel concentration camp. In 1945, it was one of three camps that she and her sister survived watch this 15000 guys and Division joining me now exclusively as Sophie cleats men Sophie. Thank you for being here. Obviously, that was a very emotional moment, for you tell me about that. It was, and just to give you a little idea what it was like to see the soldiers, the American soldiers, the GI size. They champ on tanks, trucks and seeing them was like angels from Heaven, jumping off these trucks and coming to open the gates and when they open the gates, they told us, you are free the war’s over. It was an overwhelming feeling cause. We never thought this war. This horror is going to end and meeting one of them in person was a very emotional feelings, thanks for giving us opportunity for a new life halfway normal life to be free and hard to describe, and now I am feel myself a very fortunate person to survive. The War and what I experienced last week, I just came back from admission friends of IDF and I went back to Poland. It was very difficult to relive our Spirits. I was in Auschwitz as a very young and see I losing my whole family and it was very emotional but then arriving in the Israel. I know IDF Jeff plane and it was just dog hard to describe the feeling the pride and I met a lot of the young Souls that are fighting for Israel there, so brave and courageous, and do whatever we can to help. I read that that stays. Absolutely. You and the others from the camp in tears when they say are the conditions that all of you were in this right, because we were starved and tortured and unbelievable cruelty. We live through four, how many years so some of the soldiers that looked at us. We look like living skeletons, had tears and cried and tried whatever they had crackers or cookies chocolates. They were. There would give it to us because it was a very dark period in the world to live through and, like I said, I’m one of the lucky ones. Out of my whole family, my sister and I were the only two to survive. I had a lot of ants on calls cousins, nobody well beautiful picture of you and your sister, who obviously got each other through this. Just horrific Lee horrible, and only people like you really know, but I’m so grateful that you got the opportunity to meet this Soldier and and to thank him, and we are grateful to you for your strength in your courage and for talking with us tonight Sophie. Thank you so much. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to thank you.
